Seeley Lake Public Library News

With colder temperatures upon us, perhaps it’s time to swing by your local library and find a cozy book to enlighten the mind or warm the heart. Your local Seeley Lake Public Library has many new popular titles in both nonfiction and fiction for adults.

Your local library also regularly swaps out DVDs, books on CD, large print, adult fiction and nonfiction titles, holiday reads and children’s books. We typically have a puzzle going in-house, which is another great winter activity, as well as free puzzles to take home, including plenty that are holiday- or winter-themed.

The Book Club will meet on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. at the library. This month’s read is “West with the Night” by Beryl Markham. West with the Night is the story of Beryl Markham — aviator, racehorse trainer, beauty — and her life in the Kenya of the 1920s and ‘30s, originally published in 1942. All are invited to come and participate in the conversation. Refreshments are provided.

The public library is now sponsoring an after-school reading club for all teens (including home-schoolers) on Wednesdays at 3:45 p.m. in the branch library. Each week we gather, read out-loud together from a novel and work on self-directed art. Snacks are provided.

The 2025 Reading Challenge has begun! Reading Logs are available as of Jan. 4 including online options available. For those who turned in completed 2024 Reading Logs, prizes will be available in the Seeley branch the second half of January. Well done all you amazing readers!

Seeley Lake Bookmobile Day

The Missoula Public Library’s monthly Bookmobile service will be bringing books and DVDs for the community of Seeley Lake to check out on Thursday, Jan. 16. In between those times (from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.) Seeley Lake Elementary classes will be using the Bookmobile.

If you would like to sign up for a library card, please bring your ID and a piece of mail with your physical residence listed to verify your address.
