The Sunset School Christmas Program, "Yours Truly, Jack Frost" graced the halls at the Paws Up Bull Barn on Dec. 20. The student body of 12 performed the play in several acts using only one scene.
The story began with Mrs. Claus coming to Jack Frost for decorations for the North Pole. His team of frost makers was quite impressed that "The Mrs. Claus" was coming for Jack Frost's services. Although, one of his main scientists was unimpressed with Jack Frost's casual approach to business
"He doesn't even know what a credit card is or have a fax machine!" lamented Scientist "John John" played by Evan Ledford.
Soon trouble arrived in the form of advertiser Evilina Mugglesworth, played by Sophia Mendenhall, who wanted to buy Jack Frost's frost formula. She was convinced money would buy anything. Soon John John saw money signs and attempted to steal the formula and join forces with Mugglesworth.
Jack Frost calmed his team's worries because they don't have the secret ingredient, love.
"Money can't buy happiness or my frost," Jack Frost, played by Conley Mercer, said.
A new lab assistant, Mr. Birdsong - played by Thomas Welch - came out of the lab holding up the original formula. It showed that Mugglesworth actually stole the formula for doggie cologne and Jack Frost would continue sharing his frosty art with love.
Following the play the students sang a few Christmas Carols.
"This is unique and personal, totally different from the large schools I've worked in," Rachel Estopare, Sunset School kindergarten through fourth grade teacher, said. "You don't get that experience in the large public schools."
