Empowering independence in Seeley Lake, Missoula Aging Services seeks to fill vital Rural Resource Specialist position

MISSOULA, Mont. — In Seeley Lake, the Rural Resource Specialist role with Missoula Aging Services (MAS) has been an essential source of support, connection and advocacy for older adults in the community. Now, MAS is seeking a dedicated individual to fill this important position, helping ensure that older residents can continue to live independently and with dignity in the places they’ve called home for years.

For older adults in rural Montana, accessing essential services and resources can be challenging. This role has been a lifeline, offering in-person support to those who may not have easy access to family, transportation, or digital resources.

In the past, the Rural Resource Specialist has helped residents understand and maximize their Medicare coverage through unbiased information, provided answers about veteran programs and signed people up for Meals on Wheels to ensure they receive regular, nutritious meals. By building trusted relationships, the specialist empowers older adults with the tools and support to age confidently and remain connected to their community.

This position is crucial to fostering a sense of security and independence for older residents, ensuring that Seeley Lake continues to be a welcoming place for all stages of life. MAS is proud to support this community and is eager to find the right person to carry forward the work of the Rural Resource Specialist.
