On Wednesday, Oct. 16 a new Seeley Lake business hosted a pumpkin painting event.
While this was the first event hosted at the Seeley Station - including apple cider, hot cocoa and a piece of halloween-themed pottery to paint for $10 - it isn't going to be the last. There will be a Thanksgiving event on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 5-7 p.m. and a Christmas-themed event in mid-December.
The Seeley Station opened on Aug. 5 and since opening the station has made an effort to support locals and other businesses in the community.
Owner Gage Seeley wants to make the most of the space, and part of how he does that is by sharing space in the building.
There are different "stations" in the Seeley Station where local artists and business owners are set up. The current stations are Obsession Pottery, Moonscape Crystals, Margaret's Florals, 406 Sew and Redeeming Harmony. Sisters Bakehouse sometimes sells baked goods at the Seeley Station on Saturdays.
Outside of sharing space, the main goal of the Seeley Station is to sell affordable food to locals. Sandwiches are sold for $7 and hot dogs for $6.
Seeley and his wife, Rachel, who run the Seeley Station together, fell in love with the town and then with the building.
Gage felt like the building was "too good not to invest in," because it was "a beautiful location on the main strip of Seeley."
The Seeley Station is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The station is open from 12-5 p.m. on Sundays and closed on Tuesdays.
