School bustles with activity at Swan Valley Elementary

The Montana Energy Education Council conducted an art contest last May to get art to be included in the 1990 Montana Energy Calendar.

Swan Valley Elementary School student Boomer Alexander submitted artwork and his art was one of 13 chosen for the calendar. Congratulations to Boomer Alexander.

The seventh and eighth grades have elected their class officers for this school year. They are President Boomer Jenson, Vice-president Justin Shoup, Secretary Carla Anderson, eighth grade student council representative Natalie Anderson, and seventh grade student council representative Traci Styler.

In practical arts, Joyce Himes has been leading CPR/First Aid training class. All students have passed the CPR section and will receive cards. The First Aid division and exam will be completed this week.

According to the Swan Valley Elementary School newsletter it seems that from kindergarten through the eighth grade there is plenty of activity in the Swan Valley Elementary School.

The Swan Valley Elementary School principal reminds readers that PTA meetings are on the first Wednesday every month. Also during a recent meeting with middle school students, it was decided that the whole school would be involved in hat day every quarter and that it would be permissible to wear shorts on Fridays during the months of September and May providing that the weather is warm. The Swan Valley Elementary School board will hold its monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the school library. Everyone is welcome to attend.
