Thanks for a successful Loon and Fish Festival

Alpine Artisans would like to give a big shout out of thanks to the Seeley-Swan and Blackfoot Valley communities for making our 24th Loon and Fish Festival a big success! Why do we call it a success?

We rely on the sales of raffle tickets to fund our ambitious Youth Grant and Scholarship Fund, which awarded over $5,000 in grants to seven youth grant recipients and three senior scholarship winners in the last year. Next year will be even better. Your support of the raffle this year set a record in sales, enlarging our budget for these youth grants and scholarships to over $7,000.

Our artist sales set a record for the 22 participating artists, more kids and families enjoyed the numerous outdoor art activities and the Saturday music lineup included two highly skilled high school guitarists — Sera Benton, an eleventh grade student at Seeley-Swan High School and Audrey Stevenson, an eighth grade student at Ovando School. We had a good crowd for the art demonstrations, loon talk, fly casting and fly tying demos as well.

We couldn’t have done this without the support of area businesses, including our primary sponsor, Kiewit Corporation, along with Cory’s Valley Market, Rovero’s Ace Hardware, Lindey’s Prime Steak House, The Filling Station, HB Bar and Grill and the Balsam Root Catering Truck, who fed us all.
