Loon and Fish Festival Art Show and Sale returns to Seeley Lake

Alpine Artisans' Loon and Fish Festival returns for our 24th year on Friday evening and Saturday and Sunday, July 19-21 in downtown Seeley Lake. The festival is a celebration of art and nature in the Seeley-Swan and Blackfoot Valleys highlighted by a community art show and sale featuring the work of over 25 local artists from the Seeley-Swan and Blackfoot Valleys.

Held in the Foundation Building in Seeley Lake, the show features marquetry woodwork, jewelry, paintings (all media), copper bowls, basketry, ceramics, stained glass, mixed media, sculpture, photography, a handmade guitar and more. The Balsamroot Catering food truck will be in the parking lot all day on Saturday.

Our valleys cherish our small loon population, so the festival offers a Loon Talk by the local loon ranger, a fly tying demonstration and a fly casting demonstration by the Big Blackfoot Riverkeeper. We have a full schedule of live music Friday and Saturday with outdoor seating on Saturday. Kids art activities start at 11 a.m. Saturday with Loonie Origami, continuing through the afternoon with several exciting art projects.

The popular Loon and Fish raffle offers an inflatable paddleboard, a beautiful marquetry lamp, an event at the Rich Ranch and a load of road mix. This raffle is the primary fundraiser for our Youth Grant and Scholarship Program, which has awarded over 29 senior scholarships and 85 Youth Grants for a total of over $41,000. On Saturday, huckleberry ice cream is sold to benefit the Youth Grant and Scholarship Fund.

Join us to carry on the long tradition of this unique festival. Our three-day schedule is available at the Grizzly Claw Trading Co., at the festival and on-line at alpineartisans.org.
