Accident free for two years

Hot stuff melts Condon snow

Swan Valley American Legion Post #63 hosted the 14th Annual Chili Cook-off and Auction on Saturday, March 13.

"This is our main fundraiser for the year," Jody Houston said. Houston is the adjutant for Post #63. The event raised over $2000; funds support many local events and programs, including the Local Highway White Cross Program, the Boys State Conference, and Children's Christmas at the Swan Valley and Salmon Prairie Elementary Schools.

Fourteen chili chefs entered this year's cook-off. Most of the entrants were from the Condon area, but a few out-of-staters tried their hand at cooking up a fiery batch to wow the judges' taste buds. Entries were tasted and judged via anonymous ballot by the over 120 attendees–no rigging this culinary contest!
