Ted's service was characterized by honor and proficiency, earning him the National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooter designation. His contributions to the military showcase not only his patriotism but also his unwavering dedication to duty. Ted was honorably discharged in 1975.

Ted met Kayleen (Tudor) Sorensen in Polson, Montana, in 1983, and they blended into a family of five and were married on Jan. 21, 1984. In 1989, they moved from Polson, to Seeley Lake, Montana, and Ted was the local Napa Auto Parts manager known as "Napa Ted" until his retirement in 2015.

Upon retirement, Ted focused on his passion for woodworking. He crafted remarkable creations reflecting his years working with lumber, showcasing his talent and dedication to his craft.

Ted's greatest joy lay in the company of his family and friends. Ted was loved by so many. His afternoons were often filled with a rum and coke (tottie) with "lots of ice," and laughter and conversations with friends at The Coop, where he enjoyed playing his favorite slot game. He possessed a remarkable ability to turn strangers into friends fast, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Ted's work ethic was unparalleled, a testament to his commitment to both his responsibilities and the well-being of others. His presence left an indelible mark, and the love he received from countless individuals reflects his impact on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kayleen Lockwood; daughter Shawna Alling (Edward); son Jayson Sorensen (Candice); daughter Joleen Johnson (Daniel); daughter-in-law Monica Sorensen; brother Dennis Lockwood (Linda); brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard & Evaleen Starkel; grandchildren Makenzi, Miles, Harper, and Everhett; great-grandchildren Easton and Vivian, extended family, and friends. In commemorating Ted's life, it is suggested that those who knew him honor his memory personally. One thoughtful way to do so is by raising a glass, be it your preferred beverage or a rum and coke, to remember the moments shared with him. In lieu of flowers, Ted hopes you would consider donating to the Patriot Guard.

A celebration of life will take place on July 14, 2024, at The Coop in Seeley Lake. We invite you to join us in celebrating Ted and sharing stories and laughter in his memory.
