William Richard Campbell, 83, from Seeley Lake, MT, a loving father, husband, and faithful servant of the Lord, peacefully passed away on June 7, 2023.
He was born on October 18, 1939, to Myron and Margaret Campbell. With his passing, the world has lost a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark on those around him.
William is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Madinger Campbell, his dear children, Wendy (John) Spencer, Tim (Sue) Campbell, and Tod (Ann) Campbell; his stepchildren Randy Hodges and Kelly (Micheal) Robison; and his seven loving grandchildren Haley Campbell, Ashley (Jacob) Boo, Caitlyn Campbell, William Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Lindsay (Wesley Phelps) Spencer, Courtney Spencer and one great-granddaughter Ainsley; his sister Barbara Lynn, and nephew Michael Lynn. Alongside them, a host of family and friends will carry his memory in their hearts.
Bill attended Taft High School where he was a stand-out football player. He graduated from Bradley University and shortly thereafter married his high school sweetheart and first wife, Elizabeth Hajduk Campbell.
Bill led a fulfilling life filled with professional success, devotion to his family, and unwavering faith. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran and his commitment to his country was a testament to his patriotism.
Bill enjoyed the majority of his career in the advertising and publishing industry, where he thrived as an executive. His dedication and talent led him to the American Hospital Association, where he served as the National Sales Manager. Driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, Bill later embarked on a new venture and founded his own advertising representative firm. Years later, he co-founded Mediacor, a publishing firm with multiple offices on the West Coast, cementing his reputation as a visionary leader and successful businessman.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill found his greatest joy in his role as a father and husband. He provided love and support to his blended family. Bill’s 39-year marriage to Phyllis Campbell was a testament to their deep love and unwavering commitment. Together, they shared a bond that was characterized by laughter, love, and companionship. Their relationship was a beacon of strength and a source of inspiration to all who knew them. Faith played a central role in Bill’s life, and he dedicated himself to serving the Lord.
Additionally, he was a long-time member and volunteer at the Lions Club in Seeley Lake Montana, further demonstrating his commitment to serving his community.
Following his retirement, he pursued theological studies at Trinity National University, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Religion. Bill’s commitment to his faith led him to serve as an Associate Pastor at Mission Bible Fellowship and a spiritual leader in the community. In his final years, he found fulfillment writing faith-based articles for the local paper, The Pathfinder, and was an occasional guest preacher in Seeley Lake.
Bill possessed an infectious sense of humor and a genuine gift of hospitality and encouragement. He was a passionate reader and writer and authored Beating the Marriage Odds. Most recently he was finishing a book entitled, Uniting a Divided Church.
He had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him, and his laughter filled every room he entered. His warm personality and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on the lives he touched.
In his final moments, Bill embraced the knowledge that he would be reunited with his Lord and Savior in heaven. His unwavering faith, along with his proud service as a veteran, provided him with solace and comfort. His legacy will live on through the memories of his loved ones, who remember him as a devoted family man, an accomplished professional, and a faithful servant of God.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may his loved ones find solace in the legacy he leaves behind.
The memorial service will be held at Mission Bible Fellowship located in Seeley Lake on July 15th at 1:00pm.
