Fourth of July celebration update

“Celebrating our Lakes and Mountains!” is the theme of this year’s Fourth of July celebration in Seeley Lake. You can expect a full day of fun, starting with the Seeley Lake Fire Foundation’s Pancake Breakfast and Car Show, and ending with the most spectacular fireworks show ever on Seeley Lake. Mission Bible Fellowship and the Seeley Lake Baptist Church will be serving food. Our parade will kick off at 2 p.m. and we expect a military flyover as well. Of course there will be the Rubber Ducky race, a real Seeley Lake Fourth of July tradition! As you wait for the fireworks display that night, you can listen to the “Montana-grown, hot rockin’ country band, 406”, on the lawn at Lindey’s Prime Steak House.

Lakes, mountains, festivities and fireworks will make for a memorable Fourth of July!

Are you tired of the construction traffic around Salmon Lake? Take out your frustrations by building a float! This year’s parade welcomes businesses, non-profits, families and individuals to participate. Dress up a car, a boat, an ATV or yourself - what better way to enjoy a special summer day that celebrates our nation’s 247th birthday!

If you are ready to be seen by thousands of spectators this is your chance. Parade participants will be judged, with cash prizes going to the top entries in each category. Registration for the parade is free and forms can be found on seeleyinfo.org.

We are pleased this year to honor Barbara Knopp for the wonderful support she has given to our veterans here in Seeley Lake. Her leadership of Veterans and Families of Seeley Lake should be an inspiration to all of us. Give special thanks to a veteran on the Fourth of July, and show your appreciation to Knopp as the parade passes by.

This amazing Fourth of July celebration is being brought to you by a dedicated group of volunteers, many of whom have worked tirelessly on past Fourth of July events. Sponsorship is being provided by the Seeley Lake Historical Museum & Visitor Center, and you can expect to see lots of promotional activities between now and July 4.

Naturally there are some costs involved, particularly for our fireworks show and we know the community’s generosity will provide the funds we need. (One difference this year is the Historical Museum & Visitor Center is a 501c3 organization, so all donations, individual or business are tax deductible.)

You will find donation cans at local businesses, just the place for that spare change (or dollar bills)! You will also find a donation form at seeleyinfo.org or you can pick one up at the Barn, 2920 Highway 83. If you have specific questions, email Tom Browder at browder.tom@gmail.com, or give him a call at 646-894-0247.

Registration and contribution forms can be mailed to: Seeley Lake Historical Museum & Visitor Center, PO Box 905, Seeley Lake, MT 59868.

Contributions should be designated for: 4th of July Event.

As always the Committee welcomes your suggestions and recommendations and we hope to make this the best Fourth of July ever!
