Joyful Noise Childcare celebrates 10 years

On Wednesday, May 24 the Joyful Noise Childcare at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Seeley Lake celebrated 10 years of tending to the town's youngest residents.

A decade ago Mary Mount saw a lack of childcare options in Seeley Lake and decided to open Joyful Noise to help out parents of the Lutheran Congregation. Over the years Mount has cared for many of the town's kids.

117 in told according to Mount's own count.

Providing child care for 10 years has brought her a lot of joy, and while many of the moments have been trying, she has continued it for the greater good.

"This is where I can serve my community, my Lord Jesus Christ, make a living and help others," Mount said.

Throughout the years she's touched many lives and left an impression on the kids she's taken care of. The youngest of which was only two-weeks old at the time, and the oldest has been with Mount since year one.

"Watching him grow up has been great," Mount said.

Printed on the 10-year anniversary shirts was an inside joke between Mount and the parents that shows just how much Mount has become a part of those families for whom she's provided care.

"Don't make me call Mary."

"I'm sure a lot of these parents have used that at home at some point," laughed Marlene Normark, a parishioner at Holy Cross Lutheran.

Normark has seen the kids of Joyful Noise throughout the years whenever she was at the church and said they're always having a good time.

"They always seem to enjoy it, even when they're in time-out," Normark said.
