Local Skiers Compete In Yellowstone Rendezvous
On March 5th, the final marathon in this area began with a mass start of 334 cross-country skiers competing in the 50-kilometer and 25-kilometer races. There were seventeen states represented and three other countries: Australia, France and British Columbia, Canada. Honored as the only participant to have competed in all 9 Rendezvous. Ernie Lundberg, Seeley Lake, 3:04:24, 13th in 35-39 division, 71st overall in mens. George Gearhart, Seeley lake, 3:05:57, 3rd in 40-44, 73rd overall in mens. Renee Lundberg, Seeley Lake, 5:21:37,9th in 35-39, 42nd overall in women’s. The 25-kilometer results are as follows: Geanette Cebulski, Seeley Lake, 2:08:37, 6th in 35-39, 29th overall in women’s.
Good Citizens at Swan Valley
Good Citizens for February at Swan Valley Elementary School are Jamie Wood, first grade; Kenny Crippen, third grade; Brooke Mason, fourth grade; Danny Wilhelm, fifth grade; Ronny Melton, sixth grade; April Auchenbach, seventh grade and Amy Gourde, eighth grade.

Seniors Brave the Weather for a Party
Despite a heavy snowfall, over 30 people braved the roads on Sunday, March 9th, to attend an Appreciation Party at the Abolt residence hosted by the Swan Valley Senior Services. This event was held to honor our many community volunteers who support the senior meals programs, the drivers and their substitutes, board members, donors, Hungry Bear staff; and all others who have supported us during the past years. Angela Everson was the caterer with great food and beautiful cakes.
Salmon Prairie Eighth Grader to State Bee
Jacob Wood, grade 8, of Salmon Prairie School has qualified for the State National Geographic Bee in Billings, MT. The event will be held April 4th.
