The Blackhawks boys and girls traveled to Hamilton this past weekend to compete in the District 13-C tournament.
The boy's started off with a tough game against the Victor Pirates. Leading by just a single point at half-time the Blackhawks overpowered the Pirates in the second and clinched a final victory of 55-31.
They rode high spirits into the second night but lost a well-fought game to Drummond 31-50.
The girls, however, swept the weekend with three consecutive wins over Lincoln, (62-10) Philipsburg, (50-31) and Drummond (43-38) respectively. The tournament victory advances the girls to Division finals in Butte next weekend.
"We're excited to compete at divisionals again," said head coach David Cahoon.
The stakes are just a little bit higher as they take on Ennis in round one on Thursday at the Maroon Activity Center in Butte.
"All of the teams who make it to the western division are tough," Cahoon said. "I think Twin Bridges has been solid all year. We play a similar brand of basketball and if we see them in the second round it will be a fast paced, tough battle. Round one we play Ennis. A very fast, intelligent, well coached team as well."
