“I’m incredibly grateful to the people of Western Montana for once again placing their trust in me to fight for them in Washington, D.C.,” Zinke said in a statement Wednesday night. “The voters saw through the vicious lies and deceit of my opponents and radical political groups. Truth matters, and now it’s time to fight for freedom and protect our way of life in Montana.”
On Thursday morning, Tranel gave an emotional concession speech at the University of Montana campus, thanking her supporters for “joining me on this journey."
“We will continue to walk together,” she said. “We will continue to build this movement of the people, a movement that includes everyone, regardless of our differences - of our color, of our faith, who we love, and how we live in this world. You represent the Montana I know. The Montana that is big enough, and big-hearted enough to share.”
