HELENA -- While the Missoula County Attorney wants to prosecute Bobby Francis Lowry for fraud and theft, they will have to wait their turn as charges keep piling up on the beleaguered contractor.

Lowry, 44, who is accused of defrauding Seeley Lake businesses and citizens of more than $40,000, was already locked up in a Lewis and Clark County jail facing charges for fraud when he was then charged with separate counts of assaulting his domestic partner and another inmate.

Lowry, known as Bob the Electrician, allegedly performed sub-standard work, partial work or no work, for clients in Seeley Lake and Helena. He is also accused of not paying his company's bills.

Lowry allegedly defrauded Helena businesses and private citizens of more than $91,000 and will not be released on bail from the Lewis and Clark Detention Center, according to reports by the Helena Independent Record and courts records.

Court documents state the assault on his wife occurred on Oct. 6, 2020. He allegedly hit his wife across the jaw, causing her pain and her to hit her head on a door frame, according to court records.

He is also accused of stealing more than $91,000 by accepting payment for construction work that was never completed in Helena, according to reports.

Besides the criminal charges he faces, the Montana the Supreme Court ordered Lowry to pay an estimated $13,000 in restitution to his former Gallatin County employer.

According to Supreme Court decision in 2019, Lowry retained equipment from Industrial Automation Consultants after the company fired him.

Lowry faced charges dating back to 2018 and was convicted of several of them in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New Mexico.
