4H Club completes high-Achievement year

The Seeley Lake 4-H Club completed an exceptional year. Besides having a successful year of learning and working together, this group was outstanding when it came to winning awards at the Western Montana State Fair.

4-H is a youth organization for children from 9 to 18 years old. The 4-h program encourages individual growth and community service.

While livestock projects seem to draw a lot of attention 4-H is not limited to live stock the list of possibilities goes on and on-small engines, horticulture, cake decorating, photography, quilting, eat. Etc.

(The following is a list off just some of the names who won ribbons and awards 20 years ago.)

Genevieve Newell age 9 blue ribbon in horsemanship, Ryan Nichol age 17 reserve grand champion market steer, Erik Rose age 15, purple ribbon for public speaking.Jessa Linfors age 14 for senior horse showmanship, Micheala Dunlap age 15, first place overall cake decorating, Jacob Stratton age 9 blue ribbon 1st year gardening and blue ribbon first year horticulture, Colton Dunlap age 12 blue ribbon for furbarers/trapping, Michael Caroline age 10, blue ribbon for dog obedience, Ashley Wetherall age 12, 2nd place overall for dog showmanship, Andrea Esparza Red ribbon for market lamb' Gina Clark purple ribbon for hog display,Tucker Clark red ribbon for market hog,Andrew Rose purple ribbon for showmanship, blue ribbon for market lamb, Betsy Malecha age 13 purple ribbon for trail riding project, purple ribbon for horsemanship, Holly Feed age 13, 1st place overall junior dog showmanship, Erin Demerol, 1st place overall Dog obedience.

Redford announces...A River Runs Through It

Robert Redford announced the week that a new movie production company will soon be working on the film, "A River Runs Through It" A Montana classic written by Seeley Lake author Norman Mclean.

The river story is about love of fly fishing along the Blackfoot River is the first in the book of the same title.

A River Runs Through It has become a Montana Classic and stayed on the best seller list for years.

(The Book did become movie and was filmed in Montana in Livingston and Bozman in 1991 and released too theaters in 1992 starring Brad Pitt and Craig Sheffer as the brothers Maclean., with the director Robert Redford.)
