Holland Lake Lodge proposal brown bag lunch and conversation, Oct. 4

Swan Valley - The Swan Valley Community Council is hosting a special meeting Oct. 4 from 12 – 2 p.m. at the Swan Valley Community Hall to discuss the Holland Lake Lodge expansion proposal. This is a local meeting for people unable to drive to the public meeting scheduled for 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in Seeley Lake. Flathead Forest Supervisor Kurt Steele, Holland Lake Lodge Owner Christian Wolhfeil, Stacey Hutchinson and Raj Basi will be present for the discussion.

The meeting is a public meeting and notes will be recorded. Bring a lunch and join the conversation.

Morgan appointed to Swan Valley Community Council

Swan Valley - The Missoula County Board of County Commissioners appointed Ted Morgan, Condon, to the Swan Valley Community Council on Sept. 15. Morgan fills the council position vacated by Dan Saari on July 25. Saari’s term was set to end May 2025. The BCC in their appointment of Morgan also requested the Council amend their bylaws so an alternate can be appointed to the board to fill in for absent members.

“I appreciate the interest that was generated in the Swan Valley Community Council. Said commissioner Juanita Vero. “I think it was one of the best crops of applicants that I’ve seen for community council.”

There were five candidates for the position.

Morgan’s first council meeting was Sept. 20 where he introduced himself to the community in attendance. He moved to the Swan in the past year and recently purchased a place with his fiancé in Condon.

“We haven’t been here obviously as long as many of you but we feel like we’ve had a lot of our firsts including me proposing to Julia on the Swan River,” said Morgan. “We’ve really liked the people we’ve gotten to know here.”
