SEELEY LAKE – Seeley-Swan High School Lady Blackhawks fell to the Drummond Lady Trojans Sept. 1 at home and beat Lincoln on the road Sept. 3.
The Ladies played strong against the Lady Trojans to win one of four sets. Scores were Seeley 22-25, 25-23, 21-25 and 10-25.
"We played hard and fought for every point but made some mistakes at crucial moments," said Janelle Greenwood, head coach. "It's still early in the season and we have a lot of things to learn."
Team leaders on the night were Kyla Conley with 10 kills, Ava Thornsberry had 18 assists and Madi DeBernardi had five aces. Dig leader was Dani Sexton with 15.
"It was a great match and both teams played well," Greenwood said. "It showed us what we need to work on and has fueled the fire to improve and find new limits."
The Lady Blackhawks defeated Lincoln High School Lady Lynx in three sets on Sept. 3. Team leaders on the night were Thornsberry with six aces, six assists and two blocks, DeBernardi had four kills and Sexton had 12 digs.
This week the Lady Blackhawks host three games against Darby, Sept. 8. The C Squad starts at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 the Ladies take to the road against Valley Christian. The Junior Varsity starts at 4:30 p.m.
