Swan Song
David G. Miller was born Oct. 29, 1948 to Roy and Pauline Miller in Missoula, Montana. He attended elementary school in Missoula and Frenchtown. He started high school in Missoula, but joined the Armed Forces in 1967. He then met and married Nellie Morgan in 1970. They resided in Missoula where they were together for seven years and welcomed three children Donna, Tanya and David.
In 1979 David met Mary Hiatt. She had four children and in 1980 welcomed a son Daryl D. Miller.
David met the love of his life Marcy Houtchens in 1985. In May 1987 they married in Ovando, Montana. In Ovando they bought and made a home for their family. David was working for Two Creek Ranch hauling wood and Marcy worked for Trixi's. In 1988 they welcomed a son David Allen and in 1999 welcomed a daughter Mandy Laine. Together they raised their children in Ovando until the end of his days.
David spent most of his days out in the wilderness. He always enjoyed teaching his children what he loved most. That was often gathering wood, going hunting, fishing or training horses.
David was a very caring person and wanted to help even if his help was not wanted. Although they say in his older years, he was best known as a grinch!
David will be missed by many including 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He is survived by: his wife Marcy Miller and daughter Mandy of Ovando; son David (Sara) Miller of Boulder, Montana; son Daryl Miller of Montana City; and sister Francise Phoenix of Florence, Montana.
He is preceded in death by parents Roy and Pauline Miller and brothers Mike and Butch Miller.
