A glimpse from the back roads

Seeley Lake Market Spotlight

SEELEY LAKE – Canvas's by Jeanette offers photographic prints on canvas and acrylic for shoppers at the Seeley Lake Market. Jeanette Coleman, Seeley Lake, has been selling prints for the past three years.

"I used to offer them online," Coleman said. "Shipping costs are now higher than what I charge for prints." This is her first year at the Summer Market. She will be present at the market July 17, Aug. 7 and Sept. 4.

Coleman takes pictures as she explores Montana's back roads. Coleman received her first Brownie Camera from her mother in grade school.

"I am always taking pictures," Coleman said. "When I take a picture it brings me in that world, that moment I never want to forget. I can share that feeling, that moment in time that maybe no one else will get to experience. My cousins in England love them because they feel they are here with me."

Coleman sells affordable scenic, wildlife and horse prints shot with her iPhone. She edits the pictures sometimes using filters and sends them off to be printed. Her most popular prints are ones she refers to as Blackfoot and her horse prints.

The Seeley Lake Market is held on the lawn behind the Seeley Lake Foundation Building on Sundays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. through Labor Day.
