Yarborough joins Pathfinder team

SEELEY LAKE - Hi! I'm Haley Yarborough, a sophomore student at the University of Montana majoring in biology and journalism. I grew up in Bishop, California, about an hour south of Yosemite along the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. As a kid I loved to write, read, hike, play soccer, run and cross-country ski.

After graduating high school at the top of my class, I came to Montana for the University of Montana's journalism program and to attend college in a place close to nature. Over the two years I've been at UM, I've fallen in love with both the journalism and biology program. I've had the opportunity to work for both UM's student-run newspaper, the Montana Kaimin, and the Forest Service. I plan to pursue a career in environmental journalism and hope my understanding of science will help me in delivering concise and accurate stories.

When I'm not reporting or writing, I like to trail run, hike, ski, watch and analyze Star Wars films, and play video games. I also spend time with my hamster Peanut, a cunning escape artist who loves strawberries.

I'm very excited and honored to be an intern for the Seeley Swan Pathfinder this summer and can't wait to meet the Seeley Lake community!
