A different look at American history

Letter to the Editor

It is disturbing today to see in the media what we all now take for granted that this is the new normal. We are getting used to saying what used to be wrong is now right and what was right is wrong. We see divisiveness over moral issues polarizing us all in areas of social justice, increasing crime, right to life, education, government control, lawlessness, immoral leaders, world war and elections.

In the 1960’s the Supreme Court took out prayer and the Bible in public schools and kids are no longer taught the Ten Commandments and the truth that there is an absolute authority and moral law. We are now seeing the impacts of that in society, our families and culture.

This country and government was established and influenced by the Founding Fathers faith in a Creator’s Providence and Biblical foundations. Just read the first couple paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence to understand the tenets that made America an exceptional country. Today, a return to history would help us understand who we are and how we got here and how we can look to Divine Providence again to turn us around and guide and care for us and our country again.

The Seeley Lake area has a rare opportunity to hear a nationally known speaker, best-selling author and President of Amerisearch, Inc., a publishing company dedicated to researching America’s noble heritage. William Federer will be speaking twice at Mission Bible Fellowship Church at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 22. Federer’s AMERICAN MINUTE radio feature is broadcast daily across America and His Faith in History television airs on the TCT Network on stations across America.

In today’s world with our country and government swinging back and forth from its constitutional republic established by our founding fathers, to a growing popular interest in socialism and big government taking more control of our lives, these presentations are relevant to culture and our society. Federer will be speaking on topics explaining how the Biblical and Christian worldview impacted not only American history but world history.

Federer is also a keynote speaker at the Building Back Biblical Worldview Conference being held in Missoula May 20-21 at the Hilton Garden Inn. William’s presentation titles will be “Who is King in America-6000 Years of History & How America is Unique” and “Socialism: Dream or Nightmare?” The conference will feature speakers about topics of the day and give a Biblical perspective that is not often presented.

The Institute for Biblical Authority from Montana, hosting the conference, believes the conference is important because the turmoil and problems of the country and world we see today are the result of humanity moving farther and farther away from the truth of a Biblical Worldview. The conference will build back biblical worldviews featuring presentations on science, geology, American and world history, origins, biological engineering and social issues. Go to IBA777.org for more information and to register.

The conference is free and youth programs are offered. The conference is also live streamed to the public at IBA777.org.

Mike Mueller, Institute for Biblical Authority
