Potomac Bingo back in action

MISSOULA – After withholding the event due to the pandemic, the 18th annual Potomac Bingo event returned May 7 in Missoula. More than $27,000 was raised. All funds raised directly benefit the Potomac School, staff and students by assisting with the Artist in Residence program, playground improvements and other activities and learning opportunities.

Approximately 550 people attended the sold-out event. Potomac Parent Teacher Club (PTC) member Tina Vezina said all the seats were sold ahead of the event making it much more relaxed, attendees were able to sit together with those they came with and there was not the concern that walk-ins would be turned away because it was sold out. The PTC will continue to use the reservation system in the future.

Each of the classes put together a basket that was won during one of the Bingo rounds. The fire ring that Pacific Steel donated, a hope chest donated by Floyd Ployhar, a liquor basket donated by Magic Diamond and a YETI cooler donated by Bretz RV & Marine were the high raffle amounts for the night, commented Vezina.

PTC said there are no specific plans for next year but they are taking notes on what worked well this year and expanding on those things for next year.

Vezina said, "We hope to continue to make this a wonderful event that people look forward to year after year, and make such a big impact in our wonderful little school."
