Movie night at the barn, April 30

SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley Lake Historical Society presents “Heartland” Saturday, April 30 at the Seeley Lake Historic Museum and Visitors Center. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m.

“Heartland” is a 1979 American film, directed by Richard Pearce, starring Rip Tom and Conchata Ferrell. The film is a stark depiction of early homestead life in the American West. It is based on a memoir by Elinore Pruitt Stewart, titled Letters of a Woman Homesteader (1914). In 1910 Wyoming, a widow and her seven-year-old daughter travel by train to two great unknowns - strange land and life in a remote frontier with a man they never met. Although not directly a Montana story, it is a true story of homesteading and homesteaders of the west.

The evening is free and the entire community is invited to attend. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
