Pathfinder welcomes new reporter Susan Monahan

SEELEY LAKE - Susan M. Monahan has joined the news staff of the Pathfinder.

She has been a member of the Seeley Lake community since 2019, when her husband Quinn Carver transferred here for work.

Monahan has held various jobs in life from associated editor of the Western News in Libby, Montana to insurance agent with Glacier Insurance of Libby and Western States Insurance, Kalispell (now Payne West), back to reporting with the Kootenai Valley Record in Libby.

Locally she has been a hostess at Lindey's Prime Steak House and cashier at Clearwater Stop N Go.

"I am excited to get back to practicing what I studied in college," Monahan said. "I choose journalism as a study in high school because I wanted to major in English but didn't want to be a teacher."

Monahan grew up in the small farming community of Athena, Oregon. She studied print journalism at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington and has an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon. Monahan was a member of the editorial board for both student newspapers.

Monahan can be reached at susan@seeleylake.com or call 406-298-2774.
