Crescent Mountain Builders legacy continues

SEELEY LAKE – After purchasing Crescent Mountain Builders in late 2021, Jeremiah Covert looks forward to continuing founder and owner Jason Ayers' legacy of honesty and quality construction in the Seeley Lake area under the Refined Matters LLC umbrella. With a larger team than Crescent Mountain Builders, Covert said Seeley Lake and the surrounding area can expect an increased presence, better final construction execution and an expeditious construction schedule while offering customers the best project that money can buy.

Covert grew up in Montana and his father was a master craftsman. As a child he always wanted to be in the shop with him. After high school, he joined the trades to make something of himself.

"I love working with my hands and I love problem solving," Covert said. "At the end of the day looking back at what was created is quite gratifying."

Covert founded Refined Matters LLC in 2013 in Missoula, Montana. Refined Matters LLC offers full-service construction in Potomac, Ovando and Seeley Lake. They have worked in Ovando and on Placid Lake almost exclusively the past eight years focusing on extremely high-end, complex, one-of-a-kind homes.

Covert heard about Crescent Mountain Builders while working on a job near Seeley Lake. While they never worked with each other on a project, after 20 years operating Crescent Mountain Builders, Ayers asked him if he would be interested in purchasing the business.

"Taking on Crescent Mountain Builders seemed like a smart move and the timing was right," Covert said. "I personally have 25 years in residential construction and combined with my team [of 10 including me], have over 100 years of experience."

Covert officially purchased Crescent Mountain Builders in late 2021. With the purchase came the name, phone numbers and a project on Placid Lake. They are currently half way through that project and looking to expand their services into Seeley Lake.

"We offer complete construction services," Covert said. "We will take your drawings and turn them into a reality."

Covert said most of his team and subcontractors come from Missoula and Potomac.

"I have been very successful in bringing the best tradesmen to the Seeley Lake area I can find," Covert said. "The result is quality projects. We have excellent reviews on Google."

Covert said his team usually works on two projects at a time. He typically pours concrete the season before and then builds the next season. Lately the biggest challenge has been the wait times for products.

"The trades have been experiencing major volatility," Covert said. "We order early and store products to keep a smooth schedule in most cases."

While Covert currently lives in Missoula, he hopes to move to the Seeley Lake area soon.

"Seeley Lake area feels most like home," Covert said.

He continued, "My personal mission is to learn something new every day and humbly continue to train the next generation of carpenters. I expect that Crescent Mountain Builders will continue to thrive as demand for quality and professionally managed projects are increasingly needed in the Seeley Lake area."
