Seeley Lake Book Club interest sought
SEELEY LAKE – Plans to re-start the Seeley Lake Book Club at the Seeley Lake Community Library are in motion. Please call the library, 406-677-8995, or stop in to sign up.
The Seeley Lake Community Library is located in the Seeley-Swan High School and is open Mondays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
History Wintertime Walk n’ Talk, Jan. 29
SEELEY LAKE - Join the Seeley Lake Historical Society for their annual wintertime Walk N’ Talk Saturday, Jan. 29 from 1 – 3:30 p.m.
After meeting at the River Point Campground Parking lot, attendees will walk about a mile among the monarch larch in the Lars Kramen trail area. The guides will share stories of the larch trees and their ecological and cultural importance. Walkers will learn about the old timers who grew up with these trees, as well as the history of Seeley Lake cabin leases and local forest management. The tour will also pass the location of a Native American candy tree and a sweat lodge, a picture of which is in the Historical Museum.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring snacks and drinks as needed. Snowshoes or skis are recommended for the conditions. The walk with be on flat terrain. A pit toilet is available at parking area.

Girl Scout Daisy Launch Feb. 2
SEELEY LAKE – Pre-kindergarten through first grade girls and their parents are invited to the Girl Scout Daisy Launch Feb. 2 at 4:30 p.m. at the Seeley Lake Community Foundation West Wing. While members of Seeley Lake Troop #3436 are welcome to come, this information will not be specific to the existing troop. Instead, it’s an opportunity for interested parents around Seeley Lake to learn about Girl Scouts as an organization and local opportunities to get involved. The meeting emphasizes involving girls pre-K through first grade (Daisies) in Girl Scouts but girls of all ages are welcome to swing by. There will be fun craft activities and giveaways for girls who attend.

As of Jan. 24, there have been 212,078 cases of COVID-19 in Montana. There have been 1,367,505 doses of vaccines administered and 546,545 Montanans fully immunized. There are 13,855 active cases, 10,784 total hospitalizations with 284 active, 205,262 recoveries and 2,976 deaths in Montana due to COVID-19 complications. Missoula County has had 21,818 cases, 3,123 active cases, 18,497 recovered and 198 COVID-related deaths to date.
