Community Ice Rink still in progress

SEELEY LAKE – Seeley Lake ROCKS volunteers have been working hard to open the Community Ice Rink in the Seeley Lake Elementary ball field. While it has a good base, it needs cold weather, without snow, to finish the rink. Please do not skate on it until it is ready.

Volunteers have been setting up and will maintain the rink. This includes snow removal, keeping the shed picked up, etc. If interested in volunteering contact ROCKS President Garry Swain garryswain@gmail.com.

There’s snow place like Seeley Lake

SEELEY LAKE – Seeley Lake is a unique area where over-snow conveyance can occur. Missoula County ordinance allows snowmobiles to travel on county roads. Ample snow is good for skis or snowshoes practically anywhere.

A few reminders from the Seeley Lake Visitors Center regarding snow removal:

• When removing snow from driveways, please remember to not deposit any in the roadway.

• When moving snow near the pathway along Highway 83, please do not leave berms or barriers on the pathway. The pathway is used year around. Large snow piles create a challenge or safety hazard.

• Do you remove all snow from driveways that intersect the pathway along Highway 83. This allows snowmobiles to travel through downtown on the trail without having to run on pavement.
