The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks finished their regular season on top of the conference with three more victories last week. This brought their record to 11-2. Their only in conference loss this season was to second seeded Granite.
The Lady Blackhawks made quick work of Victor Oct. 19 putting them down in three sets 25-16, 25-12 and 25-17.
Sariah Maughan led the Lady Blackhawks with 14 kills followed by Trista Wendel with 10. Madison Debernardi served up 4 aces. Ava Thornsberry had 25 assists while Wendel had 12 digs.
The Lady Blackhawks then took on Lincoln Oct. 21 for another three set win 25-18, 25-15 and 25-16.
Wendel and Cora Stone led at the net with 9 and 8 kills respectively. Wendel and Trista Alexander each had 3 aces and Thornsberry had 16 assists. Dani Sexton was credited with 11 digs followed by Thornsberry with 10.
The Lady Blackhawks found a little more competition facing Valley Christian Oct. 23 but still came away with the win taking three of four sets 25-10, 25-23, 16-25 and 25-21.
Wendel led in two stats with 14 kills and 10 digs while Thornsberry had 14 assists. Stone served 9 aces and Debernardi had 2 blocks.
This week the Lady Blackhawks head to Valley Christian for the District 13C tournament. They have a bye in the first round and then take on the winner of the Valley Christian versus Victor game at 6 p.m. Oct. 28. The tournament wraps up with the championship Saturday afternoon.
