Cross Country team heads to State

MISSOULA – At the Runner's Edge Invite at Linda Visit Oct. 14, the Blackhawks set new personal records, season bests and freshman Wesley Stevenson qualified for the State Meet. Four Blackhawks and one Lady Blackhawk will compete at State in Missoula Oct. 23.

At Linda Vista, Conner Chadwick led the Blackhawks shaving off 40 seconds for a new personal record of 21:19.84. He finished in 78th place among all the schools.

Hunter Coyle followed Chadwick taking 90th place with a time of 21:57.10. This was a new season best for him.

In his third meet, freshman Wesley Stevenson qualified for state with a time of 29:14.21 and 113th place. This was a new personal record taking more than two and half minutes off his race in Arlee.

'All three ran very well against the three AA schools from Missoula and a couple other class C schools," said Head Coach Shawn Holmes.

Blackhawks Chadwick, Coyle, Stevenson and Tyler Neher and Lady Blackhawk Kyla Conley all met the state qualifying standards of 30 minutes for the boys and 35 minutes for the girls. The state meet will be held at the University of Montana Golf Course this Saturday. The Blackhawks will race with the Class C Boys at 1:40 p.m. followed by the Class C Girls starting at 2:45 p.m.
