Blackhawks decimate Trojans

TROY – The Blackhawks made the trek to Troy to take on the Trojans Sept. 18. The 200-mile trip didn’t seem to hurt the Blackhawks as they charged to a 40-point lead in the first half. They didn’t let up in the second half finishing the Trojans off 72-8.

Owen Hoag completed 7 of 12 passes for 118 yards while Ben Haley connected 1 of 2 passes for 27 yards. On the receiving end, Walker McDonald caught 3 passes for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Haley caught 3 for 61 yards and a touchdown. Jason James also pulled in one for a 10-yard touchdown.

On the ground, Hoag rushed for 163 yards on 10 carries taking the ball in for 4 touchdowns. Haley also scored rushing for 4 yards and a touchdown.

On the defense McDonald, Klayton Kovatch and Cannon Hawkinson each had 5 solo tackles to lead the Blackhawks. McDonald assisted with another 6 tackles. McDonald and Kovatch were all over the Trojans quarterback with 5 and 3 sacks respectively.

James received 2 interceptions and Haley returned an interception for 21 yards. Hoag returned a punt for a touchdown.

This week the Blackhawks will be put to the test as they host undefeated Thompson Falls Sept. 24 with kickoff at 7 p.m.
