Helmville Rodeo Sept. 5 - Sept. 6

Lillian Boyd, of the Swan Valley, eyes the final barrel of the 11-16 year old Barrel Race at the Helmville Rodeo Sept. 5. She completed the race in 18.54 seconds.

Helena's Logan Beattie leaps from his horse to wrestle with a steer. His time of 15.6 was good enough for second place and $411.72 in the Steer Wrestling.

Junior Breakaway Roper Payton Levine of Wolf Creek sends her lasso flying. Her time of 2.7 seconds earned her first place in the event and $201.60.

Hutch Welker rides a mini bull named M-80 ahead of the main rodeo. He held on until the 6-second buzzer and scored a 60 in the Rookie class.

In the final event of the day Sept. 5, contestants participating the wild cow milking. They attempt to be the fastest to rope and milk a cow and return the rope and milk to the judges.
