The Seeley Lake Community Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2021 SLCF Scholarship. Seeley-Swan High School graduates Kara Good and Nicole Williams each will receive $1,000 towards university expenses!
Good graduated from Seeley-Swan High School in 2020. Throughout her high school years, she received numerous awards both in academics and athletics. Some of her accomplishments include: state-wide 2019 Montana High School Mathematics Award; the National President's Award for Educational Excellence from 9th-12th grade; the FR Jim Hogan 2019 Search for Peace Award for outstanding contributions toward peace, social justice, and sustainability; All-Conference Selection for outstanding achievement in track and field in grades 10 and 11; and Academic All-State selection for outstanding achievement in athletics & academics in 9-12 grades in both basketball and track with the exception of the 2020 track season.
Good was also an active member of the Student Council throughout her freshman, sophomore, and junior year (2017-2019), and served as president her senior year. She is currently a student at Montana State University, with a goal to graduate with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Building Energy Systems.
Williams graduated from Seeley-Swan High School in 2019 Magna Cum Laude. During her high school years, she was a member of the National Honor Society, recipient of the Missoula County Public School Most Inspirational Student award in 2019 and the National Center for Women and Information Technology Aspiration in Technology Award in 2018 & 2019.
Some of William's extracurricular activities included participating with the Seeley-Swan High School Volleyball Team, member of the Seeley-Swan High School Track and Field Team, co-editor of the 2019 Backroads of the Mind magazine, member of the Carroll College Forensics Team and member of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honors Society.
Williams is enrolled at Carroll College in Helena. She plans to graduate in 2023 having completed her degree in English Writing and is currently hoping to study Linguistics at the graduate level at the University of Montana.

Seeley Lake is lucky to have such motivated students who grew up here, and the Seeley Lake Community Foundation is delighted to sponsor a small part of their education.
The Seeley Lake Community Foundation has provided over $16,000 in scholarships to local students since 2006. The SLCF scholarship is designed for students who have graduated from Seeley-Swan High School and have finished at least one year of college or trade school. 2022 applications will be available next spring on the SLCF website.
