Seeley Lake Market Spotlight
SEELEY LAKE - Seeley Lake local Victoria Elliott is excited to be back as a merchant for Seeley Lake Market so she can sell her cotton appliqué dish towels to patrons.
Elliott said she has been a merchant at the market for about 11 years and has been sewing for 20 years. She learned the skill by taking lessons from Patti Bartlett at Deer Country Quilt.
Her mom helps her design the patterns and then she traces those patterns on a special paper. She then presses it onto fabric and begins cutting out the pieces before pressing them onto towels.
Her favorite part of the process is watching the colored thread go onto the towels. Some of her most popular designs include huckleberries, trailers, trees and bears.
She mostly sells her towels at the Seeley Lake Market in the summer although she will sell them at craft fairs in the winters. Because many winter craft events were canceled due to COVID-19 she sold some of her designs at Deer Country Quilt.
Elliott said she always looks forward to making money whenever she sets up her booth but she also enjoys socializing with her customers.
"[I love] talking with my friends," she said.
