Applicants sought for expanded Seeley Lake Cemetery Board
Missoula County Commissioners approved new bylaws for the Seeley Lake Cemetery District Board, updating basic guidelines and expanding the board membership from three to five members. The commissioners are accepting applications for two new three-year terms, which will run through April 30, 2024. Applicants must reside and/or own real property in the boundaries of the district, which has the same geographic boundaries as the Seeley Lake Elementary School District No. 34. Applications are available online. The deadline for applications is 3 p.m. Monday, June 28.
The additional members will help expand the board’s capacity and provide a more robust member representation of the community. Members serve as volunteers with no compensation, are subject to the county commissioners and have full charge, control, custody, management and supervision of:
• All cemetery grounds and places of interment that are now or may be owned, held or controlled in any manner by the cemetery in the future.
• All property (real, personal or mixed) that is now owned or may be used, occupied or possessed in any manner in connection with the cemetery grounds or places of interment in the future.
• All book, plats, records and other papers to any such property in any manner belonging to, appertaining to or used in connection with the cemetery.
Meetings are mandatory and are held at 12 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at Faith Chapel at 3260 Highway 83. All board vacancies are listed at https://www.missoulacounty.us/community/current-vacancies. For additional information, contact Administrative Assistant Kyla Lehnerz at klehnerz@missoulacounty.us.
