Memorial Day Ceremonies May 31

SEELEY LAKE & Swan Valley – Members of the Seeley Lake and Swan Valley communities are invited to Memorial Day Ceremonies May 31.

The ceremony in Seeley Lake will be held outside at the Seeley Lake Memorial Gardens in Highway 83 on the north end of Seeley Lake at 11 a.m. The event is hosted by Veterans & Families of Seeley Lake and will honor service members that have passed. Please arrive early as parking is limited.

The ceremony in Swan Valley will be held on the Cold Creek Bridge across the Swan River at 10:45 a.m. with the wreath drop at 11 a.m. The event is hosted by the Swan Valley American Legion Post 63 to commemorate the men and women who died while in the military service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. Please arrive early. Condon Community Church will provide a sack lunch following the ceremony.

Seeley Lake Community Foundation scholarship applications due July 9

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Community Foundation is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for local students. The SLCF scholarship is designed for students who have graduated from Seeley-Swan High School and have finished at least one year of college or trade school.  The up-to-$1,000 scholarship is meant to assist with costs incurred at a college, university or technical school.

Applications are due July 9. Scholarship applications are available online at www.seeleylakecommunityfoundation.org

The Seeley Lake Community Foundation gathers and grows resources for the Seeley Lake community, and has provided local students with over $14,000 in scholarships since 2006.

Weekly COVID-19 update

As of May 24, there have been 111,224 cases of COVID-19 in Montana. There have been 796,401 doses of vaccines administered and 382,610 Montanans fully immunized. There are 922 active cases, 5,213 total hospitalizations with 71 active, 108,699 recoveries and 1,603 deaths in Montana due to COVID-19 complications. Missoula County has had 9,166 cases, has 45 active cases, 9,027 recovered and 94 COVID-related deaths.
