SEELEY LAKE - Seeley Lake community members and visitors had the opportunity to meet the top five candidates for the Seeley-Swan High School principal position at a Meet-and-Greet event April 30. Current Principal Kellen Palmer resigned his position effective at the end of this year.
Candidates included Daniel Grabowska, John Stilson, Thomas Vail, Shawn Holmes and Edward Norman. Attendees were able to ask candidates questions and provide written feedback on forms outside the event.
Missoula County Public Schools Superintendent Rob Watson said that there was an extensive interview process earlier in the day involving around nine teachers, administrators and staff members from the school. Those facilitating the interviews will compile notes and whittle the candidates down to a couple of finalists.
They will then have one more round of interviews for the finalists to narrow it down to the top candidate. They will also conduct reference checks which can take a little bit of time. Overall he expects them to make a decision by around mid-May.
