The Clearwater Resource Council (CRC) is holding an outdoor chili tailgate Thursday, April 22 from 4 – 6 p.m. The event is open to the entire community to celebrate Earth Day at the Bison and Bear Center.
With the purchase of a raffle ticket, attendees will receive a free drink and bowl of homemade chili made with locally sourced meat, and a veggie chili will be available for non-carnivores. In keeping with the spirit of Earth Day, please bring your own reusable bowl, cup and utensil. All proceeds will go to CRC's Students-in-Action program which provides educational outdoor opportunities for local high school students.
In addition to chili and raffle tickets that can be used to win a variety of fun prizes, activities and information stations will be set up in the parking lot. CRC will provide materials to create your own native seed sculpture. The sculpture can later be planted to increase the number of plants that provide food for pollinator species. CRC will also award prizes to children and adults that complete our STOP invasive hitchhikers challenge.
The event will also feature information and activity stations hosted by the following organizations: Seeley Lake Ranger District; Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks; Tamaracks Lodge; Loving Hearts Thrift Store; Seeley Lake Historical Society; Seeley Lake Community Foundation; Seeley-Swan High School; the Clark Fork Coalition; Alpine Artisans and Trail Creek Merc.
Masks required. Food and prizes available while supplies last.
