SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks started their week off with a win against Victor but then fell to Drummond and Valley Christian. They are now 3-6 for the season.
The Blackhawks traveled to Victor Jan. 28 and brought home a solid win over the Pirates outscoring them in every quarter. The final score was 70-55.
Sawyer Shelmerdine racked up 23 points from 8 two-pointers, 1 three-pointer and 4 free throws to lead the Blackhawks. Two more Blackhawks scored into the double digits with Chase Haines scoring 16 and Quinlan Ream 15. Both of them each had 2 three pointers.
The Blackhawks then headed to Drummond Jan. 29 and fell to the Trojans 26-39.
Shelmerdine had 17 points in the game while Jason James had 5 and Klayton Kovatch added 4.
The Blackhawks hosted the Valley Christian Eagles Jan. 30.
The Blackhawks hung with the Eagles early in the game but found themselves trailing by more than a dozen points in the second quarter. They rallied back to within four points of the Eagles but could never catch them. The final score was 42-58.
James led the Blackhawks with 20 points followed by Shelmerdine with 10, Haines with 6, Kovatch with 4 and Seth Richardson with 2.
The Blackhawks have three games this week with two on the road starting in Lincoln Feb. 4 followed Darby on Feb. 5. They host Granite Feb. 6 with JV starting at 4 p.m.
