Foundation to host Grant Technology training Feb. 18

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Community Foundation is offering a free Grant Technology training for businesses and nonprofits at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 led by SLCF Executive Director Claire Muller.

This one-hour discussion will include information on how to use Submittable, a popular cloud-based platform headquartered in Montana that (among many other funders) the State of Montana used for administering COVID-19 grants in 2020. We will also go over how to look for grants, manage the funding you receive, how to think about incorporating grants into your organization moving forward, as well as tips for grant writing.

To sign up, or for further details, contact the SLCF at info@slcfmt.org or call 677-3506. In-person capacity will be limited to eight (masked) participants in order to appropriately social distance in the West Wing of the Foundation Building. The presentation will be Zoomed for those interested but not able to attend in person.

This will be the first of several technology trainings offered by the SLCF in 2021, in partnership with regional groups, thanks in part to a $5,000 grant from the Foundation for Rural Service to create a community tech hub at the Foundation Building. This one-year funding will support and build upon our efforts to help the Seeley Lake community through this difficult time and help set the stage for future success.

This community technology hub at the Foundation Building will help old and new Seeley Lake businesses and nonprofits face the unique challenges of rural living. The SLCF is proud to be able to use our fast, fiber Internet to help nonprofits and business owners apply for grants and access opportunities, helping strengthen Seeley Lake while keeping it special.

This grant was made in partnership with Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative. Blackfoot is our local member of the NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association. In an era of transformative technological advancements, regulatory challenges and marketplace competition, NTCA members are leading the technological evolution for rural consumers, delivering robust and high-quality services over future-proof networks that make rural communities vibrant places in which to live and do business. The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS), the philanthropic arm of NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association, focuses on educating rural youth, encouraging community development and introducing the public and policymakers to challenges unique to rural communities.

The Seeley Lake Community Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit that proudly engages philanthropy, provides leadership, and enhances the quality of life and economic vitality of the Seeley Lake area.
