SEELEY LAKE – I was very upset by the article about the Seeley Lake Ambulance being attacked in last week’s paper. I’ve taken the ambulance twice and they saved my life both times.
The first time, I had a diabetic attack. I don’t live far from the fire station and they were at my home practically before I hung up the phone. They got my blood sugar straightened out, were helpful and kind and knew exactly what to do. One of the volunteers even volunteered to pick up my diabetic supplies in Missoula on his own time.
A month and a half ago I had pneumonia and I couldn’t breathe. There were here in two minutes and they got me to the hospital so fast. It was snowing and icy, and the roads were terrible. They continued to ask if I was comfortable and continually tested me all the way to Missoula.
Volunteers staff our ambulance. They do the best they can and are not always sitting in the Fire House waiting for a call. They were here immediately and they knew exactly what to do.
It is time someone said thank you. So a big thank you! I wish I knew the names of the responders so I could thank them personally.
The volunteers were not only efficient and knew what they were doing, they were kind and thoughtful - something that is also very important and appreciated.
