Lady Blackhawks flatten Trojans and Eagles

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks continued to steamroll the competition with solid victories over the Trojans of Drummond on the road Jan. 8 and the Valley Christian Eagles at home Jan. 9.

The Lady Blackhawks showed no mercy to Drummond nearly outscoring them three to one in the first quarter. Within the first few minutes of the second quarter, the Lady Blackhawks had already put up more points than Drummond would in the whole game. The final score was 70-31.

Bethany Hoag sunk a pair of three-pointers and put in 6, two-pointers to lead the Lady Blackhawks with 18 points. Not far behind Bethany, Sariah Maughan and Klaire Kovatch had 15 points each. Nearly all the Lady Blackhawks that played put points on the board with 7 points from Aspen Conley, 5 from Emily Maughan, 4 from Kyla Conley and 2 from Rose Mercer, Trista Wendel and Dani Sexton.

One thing the Lady Blackhawks struggled with free throws. They hit just 4 of 14 attempted.

On the home court for the first time this season, the Lady Blackhawks decimated the Valley Christian Eagles. They led 25-11 after the first quarter and extended it to 43-14 by the half. They never let up, finishing the Eagles off 79-25.

Emily led the assault racking up 24 points while Bethany and Klaire also scored into the double digits with 14 and 11 points respectively. Emily, Sariah and Aspen had the Lady Blackhawks' 3 three-pointers.

The Lady Blackhawks shot significantly better from the free-throw line, hitting 14 of 22 attempted. Emily hit 5 of 6 while Bethany sank 4 of 6 and Kyla went 2 for 2.

Also scoring: Sariah 9, Hannah Ayers 7, Aspen 5, Kyla 4, Trista 4 and Rose 1.

The Lady Blackhawks take on Darby on the road and Granite at home Jan. 15 and Jan. 16.
