Gerald (Jerry) Estes, Jr.

WILMINGTON, NEW YORK – Gerald (Jerry) Estes, Jr., passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 at his home in Wilmington, New York surrounded by loving family.

Jerry was predeceased by his wife Sandy, his parents Gerald and Theresa Estes, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jerry is survived by his siblings Carolyn (Mike) Fitzsimmons and Kathleen (Steve) Thompson. Also surviving are an aunt Celia Stephenson and an uncle Rodney (Alberta) Estes, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, many cousins and his canine companion Olive.

Jerry was a gentle soul with a great sense of humor. He was also a very caring man having donated over 100 gallons of blood. His memory of time and dates was amazing. He loved cats, dogs, family and NASCAR.

Jerry worked at Concrete Building Supply for many years while also doing maintenance at Plattsburgh Air Force Base. His career then switched to laborer. He especially enjoyed when that included building authentic log cabins.

Donations in his memory may be made to an animal shelter of your choice or to High Peaks Hospice, P.O. Box 840, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Name Church at a later date, with interment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery.

Services were entrusted to Zaumetzer Funeral Home, Au Sable Forks, New York.
