Seeley Fire EMT recognized as Volunteer of the Year

SEELEY LAKE – At the annual Seeley Lake Fire Department awards dinner Dec. 6, Rita Rossi was recognized by her peers as the Volunteer of the Year for the Seeley Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Rossi has been with the Department for approximately 19 years. This is her second time being named Volunteer of the Year. She received the recognition in 2008 as well.

According to Seeley Lake Fire Chief Dave Lane, Rossi responded to 111 calls (39.1%) this past year. In addition to responding to calls, Rossi volunteers her time to help with special events the Department is involved with including the pancake breakfast, Trunk or Treat and the Angel Tree. She puts in extra time helping others with their educational needs, especially sharing her knowledge and experience with the EMT students. Rossi also continues to be an active member in the community and church and is a trustee on the Seeley Lake Fire District Board.

Lane wrote in an email, "Rita is always helping others."
