Brightening the holidays for local families

SEELEY LAKE - Families were able to pick up some extra holiday cheer at the third annual Reverse Giving Tree on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Seeley Lake Community Hall. At the event, children were able to pick up a stocking and toy, write a letter to Santa, and even meet the big man himself. Toys, including stuffed animals, puzzles and books, were provided for free by Organizer and Montana Girl owner Sheila Czifro as well as donated by community members.

Capacity was limited to 25 people at one time in accordance with COVID-19 regulations. Czifro estimated at least 70-80 people stopped by with all stockings gone and only a few toys remaining by the end of the event.

"Hopefully, we'll be able to make sure a few kids have some presents that [their family] might not be able to get them this year with COVID," Czifro said. "More people than ever are out of work or not having their usual incomes to be able to rely on. And we just like to be able to give back where we can."
