I have had brief but memorial conversations with Jennifer Fielder. It was apparent from those conversations that Jennifer Fielder has no desire or ability to work with others that may not agree with her. Most concerning to me was how hostile Jennifer Fielder appeared to be regarding outdoor recreation. I remember thinking how difficult it would be to work on the same committee with Jennifer Fielder.
That’s why I was stunned to read that the Missoulian endorsed Jennifer Fielder in part because of her “unique capacity to unite.” Jennifer Fielder consistently sparks controversy. It is impossible for me to understand how the folks at the Missoulian could see Jennifer Fielder as a unifier.
The Missoulian stated that her opponent, Monica Tranel, has the clear edge in technical expertise. Issues addressed by the Public Service Commission are largely technical in nature. She understands the technical aspects the Public Service Commission deals with.
Monica Tranel finds solutions by bringing people together based on facts. Jennifer Fielder drives people apart based on emotion. The Missoulian made a mistake.
