Browder will represent all of us

It’s no secret that there is a diversity of opinion in our community. Politics has become something of a contentious, even nasty business nationally. Sometimes tensions can be high even within the State, counties and local communities.

Some politicians seek to divide us or exploit any existing division for political gain. Some will adhere to party line even when it makes little sense with the issue at hand. And some will listen, seek common ground and work to build consensus. In my view the role of our elected representatives is to understand who we are, our issues and our needs and represent all of us as fairly as possible in a process that actually builds toward something better. I don’t believe that is possible if the politician does not live and actively participate in the community they purport to represent.

That’s why I strongly support Tom Browder in the upcoming election for Montana House District 92. Tom grew up in Missoula County and lives and volunteers extensively in Seeley Lake. He knows our issues. I know he listens, even to whatever hare-brained ideas I have, and then weighs that with his broader experience in the community.

Tom has been remarkably active in our community and many of you already know him from his participation on the Community Council where he’s worked to make the discussion accessible to anyone who cares. He volunteers on multiple local boards and he has taken that activism to other communities in HD 92 working on local issues with food access. You can talk with Tom, he will listen, and he will work to represent all of us as fairly as possible.

Tom Browder is a good guy who isn’t interested in being a politician. He just wants to work on something that matters here.

I encourage you to vote for Tom Browder. But whatever your choice, make sure you vote.
