In the late 1800’s my great, great grandfather came west from Missouri and settled with his family in a wooded area near Alberton. He was drawn to Western Montana, he said, by the power and beauty of the Rocky Mountain front. My grandpa owned and operated a small sawmill, which paved the way for my father’s introduction to the wood products industry. When I was a child, my dad’s work took my family to various Montana locations including the community of Seeley Lake, which is just down the road from where I now live. As a native Montanan with blue-collar roots, I believe we need people in public service who will fight for Montana families and small businesses.
I support Monica Tranel for a seat on the Public Service Commission. Like me, Monica has strong roots in Montana. An eastern Montana ranch kid, Monica grew up here and went on to fight for Montanans for over two decades as an attorney. She argued in front of the Public Service Commission and in the courtroom for Montana families like mine.
Monica is a hardworking professional and will fight for fair utility rates for Montana families and small businesses. Monica believes in facts and science and will help guide Montana towards a renewable, reliable and affordable energy future.
Monica’s opponent Jennifer Fielder was not born in Montana and has failed to fight for Montanans. Fielder, a former legislator, missed 15 of the 87 days the MT Legislature was in session — that is 17% of the time she was supposed to be representing Montana. Fielder is the CEO of American Lands Council, the chief organization pushing for large-scale land transfers across the West.
Montanans like you and I deserve a committed, hard-working and competent Public Service Commissioner who will stand up for Montana families. Please join me in volunteering, donating and voting for Monica Tranel for Montana Public Service Commission.
