TULSA, OKLAHOMA - Dr. Ben F. Irvin, 74, died of natural causes at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma Sept. 11, 2020. He was a former educator in Seeley Lake and Lincoln, Montana.

Loving Hearts open Wednesdays
SEELEY LAKE - Loving Hearts Thrift Store will open on Wednesday, Sept. 16. They will now be open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. every Wednesday. Masks are required. Donations will be accepted when they are open.
Missoula County Parks & Trails matching grant applications open, deadline Nov. 1
The Missoula County Parks, Trails & Open Lands Program wants to fund projects that improve recreation opportunities on public lands within Missoula County! Applications for 2020 Grants will be accepted until Nov. 1.
Grant funds are available to community groups interested in improving and maintaining public recreation sites and facilities outside of the Missoula City Limits. There is $40,000 available for capital improvement projects and $10,000 set aside for maintenance projects. Eligible match includes cash expenses, volunteer labor and in-kind donations of materials and professional services. Examples of past projects include: playground construction/maintenance, trail construction/improvements, ice rinks and improvements to community event centers.
This winter the Missoula County Parks & Trails Advisory Board will review the applications and provide a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners. Once the Board of County Commissioners approve the recommendations, the grants will be awarded.

As of Sept. 14, there are 9,107 cases of COVID-19 in Montana. There are 2,127 active cases, 531 total hospitalizations with 144 active, 6,842 recoveries and 138 deaths in Montana due to COVID-19 complications. Missoula County has had 503 cases, has 69 active cases with one currently hospitalized, 434 recovered and three COVID-19 related deaths.
